Jacqueline L. Hutmacher, 99, died on April 25, 2026. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on March 25, 1927, to the late Cleo and Howard Orr. She was a lifelong member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. Jackie graduated from North Side High School and DePauw University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She later taught typing and shorthand at North Side from 1967-1981.
Jackie enjoyed being a homemaker, her family, and her many friends. She and her husband, Bob, enjoyed traveling together in retirement and spending summers at their cottage on Lake James.
She is survived by her sons, Al (Nancy) Wermuth and William Wermuth; her grandchildren, Rob Wermuth, Sarah (Nick) Turiano, and Emma (Michele) Leonelli; and her great-grandchildren, Grace and Leah Turiano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Hutmacher, and her first husband, A.C. Wermuth, Jr.; her son, Thomas (Mary) Wermuth; and two stepsons, John (Karen) Hutmacher and Michael (Julie) Hutmacher.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date with burial to follow at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Trinity English Lutheran Church. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home.
