

JAMES V. BRADNER, 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born May 2, 1930, in Fostoria, Ohio, he was the second to youngest of five boys, "The Bradner Boys". He worked as a draftsman for Scholz Homes, Toledo, Ohio, and later as an architectural designer for Stylemaster Homes (Lebrato Bros.) and Shive Nursing Homes, Fort Wayne. His designs are in every area of Fort Wayne and across the country. "He always put the needs of others before his own. He was an example of a splendid human being to his children and his children's children. He saw beauty everywhere and was always ready with a joke to break the ice. He taught us all what real love, humility, gentleness and kindness are." He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Norma Jean Lee. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 6, 2010. Surviving are his wife, Norma Bradner; daughters, Kristine (Michael) Lamborne, Sandra (Donald) Avey and Lee (David) Shields; brother, William Bradner; grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Geiger, Sean (Kimberly) Lamborne, Daniel (Nicole) Geiger, Travis Avey, Melissa Avey, John Shields, Greg Shields, and William Shields; and great-grandchildren, Joey, Jimmy, Alex, and Noah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Wonderly Bradner; father, Harry Roswell Bradner; brothers, H. Robert, Richard and David; son, James Bradner; and grandson, Mark Shields. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior.
