James Coleman, Jr. was born on April 28, 1956 in Farnsdale, Alabama to the late James Coleman, Sr. and Dorothea (Johnson) Coleman. James departed this earthly life unexpectedly on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his residence. His family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.
Coleman, as he was affectionately called, was the firstborn son of six children. He was a jokester, who loved spending time with his family. He was employed by Essex Wire of Fort Wayne for 13 years. He had a love for working on cars and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
James has a special relationship with his Uncle Milton and considered him like a big brother. He was a big influence on his life.
James Coleman is survived by his son, Isaac Coleman-Miller of Atlanta, Georgia, two sisters Dorothy R. Coleman and Doris J. Hudson, a brother, Kenneth Coleman all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also surviving is his son’s mother Regina Clancy-Coleman.
James Coleman was preceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Clarence E. Coleman and Alfonzo B. Coleman.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
