He graduated from Howe High School and then he attended Butler University. James was an Army Veteran. James retired as an Accountant after 40 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, playing cards and vacationing to Florida. He most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. James married Patricia Furry on July 25, 1954. They were married for 60 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Steve) Knight, Wolcottville, Jill (Mike) Davis, Fort Wayne, Lisa (Ken) Russell, Leo; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Tom Crone, Fort Wayne.
James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Furry; and daughter, Denise Crone.
A Memorial Gathering will be at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825 on Saturday April 5, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 pm.
