James Joseph Kane passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 85, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Leona and William Kane on October 13, 1940. James was a devoted husband to Carolyn Kane for 38 years.
He was a resident of Lawrenceville, Georgia for 25 years and Fort Wayne, Indiana for 40 years. He worked for Tuthill Corporations for over 30 years and later for Tokheim Pump Company for 5 years. He was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and loved working outdoors, remote control boats and restoring vintage firearms. He was an avid jogger and neighborhood good samaritan.
James Joseph was a kind, gentle and amazing father to Jeffrey Kane, Jon Kane, Dawn Farrell, and Stevan Schulien. A soft-spoken and patient grandfather to Sofia Kane, Matthew Kane, Ryan Schulien, Evan Schulien, Ian Michael (JOSEPH) Taylor and "Pa" to Jackson Cole Taylor.
Loving brother to Barbara Jarding, Kathleen Payne, and John Kane.
He was preceded in death by David Kane and Mary Baker.
A funeral service for James will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1636 St. Marys Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808 on September 19, 2026 at 12:00 PM, with visitation two hours prior.
