James O. Leimer, age 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. He was born January 10, 1937 to the late Hugo and Selma Leimer. James graduated from Fullerton High School in Fullerton, Nebraska in 1955. Following graduation, he enlisted with the United States Army at Fort Riley, KS prior to his assignment to Fort Carson, CO, where he trained the U.S. Army Mules. Later in life he earned his Associates Degree in Electronics from DeVry Institute. James married Nancy Jo Gilbert in 1977. During his career he worked for International Harvester for 26 years, and Magnavox for 16 years before retiring in 2000. Following retirement, he used his skills to repair computers, and volunteered for friends, family and church. James was actively involved in the Missionary Church and loved HAM Radio and was fluent in Morse Code. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy; and daughters, Kimbra (Steve) Tippmann, Karla (Scott) Shepherd, Kris (Tim) Bigelow, Shelly (Blake Gavros) Speakman; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three brothers; and four sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State Street in Grabill, IN with visitation two hours prior.
