James Allen Mason

James Allen Mason, 91 passed away Monday December 27, 2021 at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born November 24, 1930 in Fayette Alabama, the son of the late Darren and Jane Mason. James attended Shelton State College in Tuscaloosa. He was a Sargent in the US Army and was part of Company C 131 Tank Battalion. He worked for Uniroyal Goodrich for over 35 years. James worked at the Tuscaloosa and Woodburn facility and retired as a Supervisor in 1988. James was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. He was a lifelong Alabama Football fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his grandchildren Richard Warford of Woodburn, IN’ Stephanie (Bret) Comer of Fort Wayne, IN; great grandchildren, Morgan Warford, Mason Warford, Cassidy Comer, Austin Comer, great great grandson Rylan, and son in law Bruce Memmer of New Haven, IN. James was preceded in death by his wife, Wylodene D. Mason, and a daughter Deborah Memmer.

Funeral service will be 10 am Thursday January 6, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday January 5, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial at IOOF Cemetery New Haven, IN. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
