

James S. "Jim" Reed, 72, of Roanoke, Indiana, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on July 9, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of the late Donald and Irene (Brinker) Reed. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne in 1972 and then went on to earn an Associate's degree in Automotive Technology from Ivy Tech in 1974. Jim worked as the fleet manager, serving all of Northeast Indiana for Pepsi Bottling Company for 42 years before retiring in 2011. He was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke. Jim loved his God and church and deeply cherished his family. Jim also loved cars. He was especially proud of all his Corvettes he had over the years, he just enjoyed cruising in them. Surviving family include his wife of nearly 19 years, Tamara L. Oden-Reed; daughters, Jamie (Matt) Baines, Ashley (Mike) Swanson, and Tracy (Joe) Grashoff, all of Fort Wayne; brother, Ed (Joan) Reed of Leo, Indiana; sisters, Carol Curtin of New Madrid, Missouri, and Janet Craney of Noblesville, Indiana; his extended family, including his sons, the late Warren (Stacey, who survives) Oden, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael (Jennifer) Oden of Lafayette, Indiana, and Scott (Kristie) Oden of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Gary (Crystal) Gillis of Ocala, Florida; sisters-in-law, Tina (Carl) Butler, of Nashville, Indiana, and Nancy Gillis of Walthill, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren; his first great grandson due in March; numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Guy and Julie Dumato and Pat and Jackie Scher. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 North Main St., Roanoke, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with a rosary service at 5:30 pm. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials in Jim's memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke.
