James was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School, a reservist in the 122nd Air National Guard, and the owner of Advance Sign Co. He had many talents and took pride in the success of his business. James was very adventurous; he loved the outdoors, boating on Coldwater Lake in Fort Myers, Florida, and walking along the beach on Sanibel Island, and hot air-ballooning. Just for fun, he would fly to various places on some weekends, he could be seen racing his 1947 Ford (Freight Train) in Indy, if you are old enough to remember, it'll always be Stud's 47 coupe. He enjoyed meeting his long-time friends for coffee and coffee cake on Friday mornings, some of whom have sadly since passed. They are surely sharing memories together now. He loved his family and his black Lab Jack, and he attended Aboite Lutheran Church until he became ill. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joleen Studinski; a brother, Tom (Suzanne) Studinski; a sister, Mary of Merryvilles, Wash.; granddaughter, Elizabeth; and great-grandson, Isaiah. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Noreen; son, Scott; and sister, Nancy Pence.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at D. O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne.
