James Richard "Dick" Young passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Parkview Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1928, in Warrick County, Indiana, the son of Chester and Ruth (Folsom) Young. James family moved to Anderson, Indiana the summer he started school. He was a World War II veteran and was stationed in Japan after the war ended. After the service, James attended Ball State University. In 1950, he went to the Indiana State Police Academy at Indiana University. He served at the state police for 14 years, then worked at Allstate for 32 years. James loved playing golf and working in the yard. However, he mostly loved spending time with his family and friends. James' was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is proceeded in passing by the love of his life of over 60 years, his wife, Joan (Shannon) Young. James is survived by the joys of his life, his son, James (Lisa) Young; grandchildren, Robert Young and Allison (Joe) Morua; and great-grandchildren, Mason Harms, Nora Holzinger, Harper Morua, and Hadley Morua. There will be no public services at this time.
