

JANE McMULLEN IRMSCHER, M.D., 84, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, 8:55 p.m., at her residence. Born on March 25, 1925, in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of the late James Park and Josephine Eliza (Porter) Mc-Mullen, she was Health Commissioner at the Allen County Health Department for 22 years, retiring in 1994. She instituted The Super Shot Program in the city of Fort Wayne. "With her honesty and gentility, she was one of the best imports to hit Fort Wayne." Surviving are her husband, George W. Irmscher, M.D. of Fort Wayne; daughter, Susan (Mark Merzdorf) Irmscher of Highland Park, Ill.; two sons, George E. Irmscher and David P. Irmscher, both of Fort Wayne; brother, James Park (Phoebe) McMullen, Jr. of Wellsburg, W. Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 West Wayne Street, with calling one hour prior.
