Janet B. Brooks

Janet B. Brooks, age 74, passed away Sunday, November 2. She was born in Wabash, Indiana. She graduated from Huntington Township High School. She earned her associate degree in nursing from Purdue University and a B.S. in nursing from the University of St. Francis. She devoted her life to caring for others both with her career and her family. She worked many years as a hospital and home health care nurse. She married Larry M. Brooks on May 10, 1958. Served as a member in the Order of the Eastern Star Floral Chapter in Huntington, Indiana. She was a member of the Arcola United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband Larry M. Brooks, son Timothy W. Brooks and daughters Terri A. Frank (Jeff) of Ft. Wayne, Trudy K. Larrew (Larry) of Glen Carbon, Illinois; four grandchildren Daniel J. Frank, Michael S. Frank, Emmy S. Larrew, and Elise X. Larrew.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Bowers and his wife Lula Bowers and her mother Thelma (Parke) Bowers

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Fort Wayne and the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 420 W. Wayne St. Ft Wayne, Indiana. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery Merriam, Indiana.
