On Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, Janet Aline Foreman, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, passed into the arms of Jesus.

Janet was born December 22, 1942, in Auburn, Ind., to the late Harold and Vera Walters. She was a sign language interpreter for FWCS for 22 years, Elmhurst and Snider High Schools, and was a strong advocate for the use of sign language in the school system. She also worked for Anthony Wayne Services providing respite care for many clients.

She would tell you that her greatest accomplishment in life was her four children, Jim (Chrissy) Foreman, Matt (Sabrina) Foreman, Keith (Melody) Foreman and Kris (Don) Behringer, along with her 11 grandchildren, Austin Foreman, Zachary Foreman, Madison Foreman, Joel Foreman, Allison Foreman, Cole Foreman, Kayla Foreman, Jake Behringer, Jana Behringer, Luke Behringer, Molly Behringer, and Michael (Keri) Davison; and three great-grandchildren, Theo, Justice and Charlie, all who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia (Tom) Simons; and sister-in-law, Patty Walters. Janet was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Wurm and LaVera Walters; and brothers, Keith Walters and R.L. Walters.

Due to the global pandemic, all services will be private. There will be a celebration of life service held at a later date.

My older sister, Kathy Heersche her husband Dale were very good friends of Janet and Jim. When they would go out for an evening as couples, I was hired to babysit the kids. Jim, Matt, Keith and Kris..you all were such a joy. My heart is heavy for you all, but we have our memories of your mom and her personality and contiguous laugh. Just recently, Janet and I connected on FB and talked a lot. God bless you all.

Our whole familly loved Jan so much. One of the sweetest most caring people I have ever known. She loved working with the kids & we thought of her as another Mom for Sean. She always kept his best interest in mind when working with him at school and outside activities. She is very special and will be greatly missed by so many people. We will always remember her with loving thoughts and memories. Our hearts, thoughts & prayers go out to all of her family. I know you all have so many special memories to hold dearly and I hope those memories help you smile a little through this hard time.

My heartfelt thoughts for the family of Janet and same for all of those who a. She has played a major role of all what I’ve accomplished in my entire high school times both inside and outside, guiding me in the right direction to become who I wanted to be right out of high school, as now, and forever.

Always be loved!

Jan was a very dear friend. I loved her big heart and contagious laugh. Besides working together at Lifebridge Church, Jan occasionally watched our house, our first grandson, and Lincoln, our dog. She was afraid of him at first, but soon learned he was a gentle soul. I’ll miss seeing Jan on our trips to Fort Wayne.

I met Jan as the mother of Matt Foreman. She soon became my dear friend and Godmother to my son Joseph. Her compassion, caring and never ending love for the Lord are cherished memories. She has touched so many lives of those she worked with but also all the students she worked with. Everyone came to love and search her out for words of wisdom and truth. Jan lives on is our hearts and minds. I am a better person for the example she lived throughout her live.
