Janet A. Leonard, 98, passed away on July 21, 2018. She was born in Rudolph, OH on November 14, 1919, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen Leonard. Janet obtained her Associates Degree from Giffen Junior College in Van Wert, OH. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and worked as a secretary for the Fort Wayne Police Department until her retirement in 1985. Janet was a member of the Rosary Society and Legion of Mary, and also enjoyed volunteering at St. Joe Hospital. Surviving are her nieces, Sarah Lincoln, Ann Stevens, Laura M. Hook, and Elizabeth Steele; special niece-in-law, Nancy G. Meyer, and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, M. Patricia Meyer, Lawrence C. Leonard Jr., and William J. Leonard; and nephew, Michael J. Meyer. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, July 30, 2018 at St. Anne’s Home Chapel, 1900 Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, with calling 1 hour prior. Burial will take place at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Findlay, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne’s Home.
