Janet Ruth Rose, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on August 30, 2026. Born April 11, 1933, in Decatur, Indiana, Janet lived a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and a faithful care for others that was felt most deeply by those closest to her.
Janet attended Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1951. In those years, her love of music and community shone through as she sang in both her high school and church choirs. She also played tennis and loved to play the piano—simple joys that reflected a generous spirit and a heart inclined toward sharing what was beautiful and uplifting.
Janet was married to her loving husband, Eugene, for 61 years, who passed away in 2015. Together they built a family grounded in enduring commitment, selfless love and faith in God. She is survived by three children, Jeff (Betty) Rose, Gregory (Cindy) Rose, and Linda (David) Schrock, as well as 12 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Janet’s faithfulness and generosity were not merely spoken of, but lived—day by day, in the ways she gave of herself to her family and to those around her.
A funeral mass will be Friday, September 4, 2026 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne, IN with calling one hour before. The family will also be receiving friends on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Rosary service at 3:30 PM at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
