JANET L. WATSON, 68, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, 4:40 a.m., at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born Jan. 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. Merz and Mary Jane Staley Merz. She worked at O'Neil's Glass Service for 28 years, retiring in 2001. Surviving are her husband, Roger Watson of Fort Wayne; daughters, Connie (John) Harding of Leo and Julia (Brad) Rupp of Archbold, Ohio; stepson, Jon Watson of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Amy (Gary) Wireman of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Rebecca) Merz of Fort Wayne, David (Gaye) Merz of Leo, Edward (Suzanne) Merz of Fort Wayne, and John (Christine) Merz of California; sisters, Kathy (Todd) Spade of Fort Wayne, Barbara (Frank) McGowan of Georgia, Marcia (Tim) Indrecc of Colorado, and Laura (Joe) Mundy of Ohio; stepfather, Joseph Leiter; stepbrother, Mike (Karen) Leiter; and stepsister, Julie (Dave) Rietdorf. She was also preceded in death by sister, Rebecca Merz. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at St. Joe Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
