Jeanette Newman

Born on October 24, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Lavonne "Bonnie" DeRose Sr. A 1979 graduate of Elmhurst High School, Jeanette grew up in a large family, surrounded by people who loved her. Her sisters were her best friends. She enjoyed games and puzzles, and displaying her large collection of clowns. Tiny, but feisty, she would good-naturedly stand back to back with her young nieces and nephews to compare height, knowing that it thrilled them to finally be taller than their Aunt Janny!

Jeanette's journey through life was never easy. She endured one health crisis after another, and fought each one with bravery, acceptance, and optimism. Her strength and courage has been an inspiration to all who knew her.

Jeanette's children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved, cherished, and enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren, who now have their Grammy to watch over them from heaven. She will be greatly missed, and will live in the hearts of all who loved her.

Jeanette is survived by her loving children, Joshua Newman and Jessica Newman; grandchildren, Aydyn Reed and Addileigh Newman; sisters, Marilyn Gatton, Carolyn (Steve) Minich, Diana (Ron) Dantzer, Virginia Kirby, Teresa (Lynn) Rosswurm, Helen (Mark) Carrico, and Mary (Brian) Sievers; brothers, James (Donna) DeRose, Patrick (Shirley) DeRose Jr. , and John (Trina) DeRose; brother- in-law, Lee Dilley; special nephew, Ben Newman; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Dilley and Karen DeRose; niece, Brooke Dilley; brothers-in-law, John Gatton Sr. and Delbert Kirby.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
