It is with deep love and heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jeanette Troutner, who peacefully left this world surrounded by the love of her family on May 10, 2026. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is once again reunited with the love of her life, her husband of 47 years, Max, whom she missed dearly.
Jeanette was born on September 20, 1941 and was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne. She graduated from North Side High School in 1959. She spent her 34-year career in the banking industry and retired from Chase Bank as the branch Vice President.
Jeanette was the kind of person who made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Her compassion for others was woven into everything she did. She had a giving heart, a nurturing spirit, and a way of helping people without ever expecting anything in return. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her presence, she made life better for so many.
She was deeply spiritual and carried a quiet faith that guided her throughout her life. Her belief in God gave her strength, comfort, and peace, and she shared that light with those around her through her kindness, grace, and unwavering love for others.
She was also wonderfully sassy, quick-witted, and funny in a way that could light up a room. She loved to laugh, loved to tease, and always had a comment ready that could make even the hardest days feel lighter. Her strength, humor, and spirit remained part of her right until the very end.
Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She loved her children fiercely, treasured her grandchildren, and adored her great-grandchildren. Even as our family grieves her loss, there is comfort in knowing her love continues through every life she touched — including the precious great-grandchild she was already excited to welcome in October.
The lessons she taught us about kindness, resilience, faith, humor, and unconditional love will remain with us forever. Though she is no longer beside us, she will always be a part of who we are.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply and love her endlessly.
Jeanette is survived by a son, Anthony Troutner, a daughter and her partner, Lori (Troutner) Heiges and Chris Cook, two grandsons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Sarah Heiges, and Cameron and Olivia Heiges, a step-granddaughter, Maddie Yee (Tom), as well as two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Heiges and Baby Heiges due in October. She is also survived by her dog of eight years, Penny.
She is preceded in death by her husband Max Troutner, her parents Charles and Elizabeth Beeching, her brothers Chuck Beeching and Dick Beeching (Elaine), and her sister Joan Thayer (Larry).
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
