Jefferson W.L. Turner

Jefferson W.L. (“Jeff”) Turner was born to the late W.L. Jefferson and Hattie Mae Turner on January 7, 1945, in Miami, Florida. He moved to Fort Wayne at an early age. He attended McCulloch Elementary School and Central High School.

On September 28, 1974, he married Johnnie B. Walker. Jeff loved to barbeque, listen to the blues, tell jokes, take walks, play Spades, and being surrounded by family and friends. He also loved to watch western and action movies.

Jeff leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 51 years, Johnnie Turner, of Fort Wayne, IN; children, Londa Watson and Carl (Shanita) Williams, both of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters Carla Steward and Tamella Williams, both of Muskegon Heights, MI; sister, Ola Mae (Porter) Pernell; brother Eddie (Rose) Turner; aunt, Mary Hornaday, all of Fort Wayne, IN; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Carl Turner; brothers, James Turner, Fred Lymon; sister, Earnestine Lymon; granddaughter, Joynece Watson; and great-grandson, Dimitri Watson, Jr.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at D.O. McComb and Sons – Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46815.

An open reflection will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, D.O. McComb and Sons – Foster Park. Immediately following the open reflection, a Memorial Service will be held at D.O. McComb and Sons – Foster Park.
