Jerry G. Forney, 71 of Northome, MN and formerly of Ft. Wayne, IN passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2018. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 27, 1947 to Robert and Billye M. (Phillips) Forney. Jerry worked in Ft. Wayne as a Finance Manager for several automobile dealers. He proudly served his country in the U S Marine Corp. during the Viet Nam War. No matter who Jerry was around, be it friends, family or even a stranger, he wanted everyone to laugh. He loved his family and friends dearly and would like his memories to live on. Jerry loved God, family, friends and life. He loved hunting, fishing and retired to the “Northwoods” of Minnesota where he made new friends and memories and enjoyed the peace and beauty of God’s country. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Joanie (Baker), father Robert, brother, Jack, sister, Sheri (Lowell) Frame and his buddy, and “Foster” his yellow lab. He is preceded in death by his mother, Billye M.Forney, brother Jeffrey, grandparents Ollie and Robert Forney and grandmother, Lena Phillips.Services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10 AM in D. O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home-Lakeside Park 1140 Lake Avenue Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation there on Sunday August 5th 4-9 PM. He will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers the family request masses be given to his church in Minneosta or memorial gifts be directed to the Comfort Dog Ministries.
