Jerry L. Lytle

Jerry L. Lytle, 79, passed away Saturday May 13, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born August 25, 1943 in Defiance, OH, the son of the late Walter Louis and Catherine Lytle. Jerry was a Supervisor with General Electric Wire Mill.

He was an avid sport enthusiast and was an IU basketball and Celtic fan. He played softball until he was 69 years old. He also played basketball and bowled on several leagues with his wife. They loved to travel and spend time at the ocean along the beach. Jerry was a regular at Coney Island for breakfast. He never knew a stranger and had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. His true passion was his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Tina (Nick) Quickery, Jerry L. (Amy Caudill) Lytle Jr., Jeffery T. (Joyce) Lytle, all of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Nolin and Tilly Quickery; siblings, Donald (Lucy) Lytle, Joyce Ensley, Cathy Casiano, Carolyn Beady, Sheryl Miller, Larry Dean (Cindy) Grace and Sandy Lelsey. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Karen L. Lytle, in 2010; brother, Walter Lytle; and a sister, Shirley Finnegan.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, May 21, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control.
