Jerry D. Sands, 67, of Fort Wayne passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was born in Fort Ord, California on Sunday, January 27, 1957, a son of the late Harold and Esther (Campbell) Sands. Jerry was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed spending his time at Dale Hollow Lake on the Kentucky and Tennessee line. He was the life of the party with his good sense of humor and kind heart. Jerry also had a soft spot for his dogs, who he cherished dearly. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Sands; daughter, Kaylyn Sands; siblings, Sharon (Terry) Tipsord, Tammy (Jeff) Clark, and Jeffrey Sands; mother-in-law, Frances Kuzeff; brother-in-law, Ken Kuzeff; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Gushwa and Kay Kuzeff-Harris. Jerry was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kristina (Sands) Wilson. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809, with a time of sharing beginning at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Jerry's name may be made to the SPCA or American Kidney Fund.
