

Jerry A. Young, 72, died August 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. Son of Charles Young and Minnie Doty Young, he was born in Eaton, Indiana and had lived most of his life in Ft. Wayne. He received his bachelor’s in electrical electronics engineering from Purdue University and his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. Jerry had been employed by American Electric Power as a Telecommunication Supervisor retiring in 1997 after 28 years of service. After his retirement he worked for Velox Medical Delivery Service. He is survived by his wife Ann; niece, Jenny Cable of Indianapolis; and nephew, Jason Young of Eaton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister in law, June and brother, Jack. A member of Summit City Lodge he was a Past Master of Home Lodge 342. He was Past President of Kekionga Shores Community Association. Also he served several years on the board of directors of PowerOne Federal Credit Union. His hobby was Ham Radio where he was known as K9JHE. Funeral Services will be held at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Winchester Rd. Chapel Thursday 10 A.M. August 30, 2012 where friends may call Wednesday 4-8. Burial in Union Cemetery at Eaton, Ind.
