I just found out about Joan's death. A good friend of mine from Ft. Wayne, Tom Campbell, told me about her passing this morning, via email.

I have very fond memories of Joan. I was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, and used to play tennis at Wildwood, before I moved to Garland, TX in '81. I remember her smiling face and her great, bubbling personality, as she greeted us at the front desk. I can still see her, as if it were yesterday. She was such a neat lady, and was always a "fashionista". She was always interested in what you were doing and what was going on in your life, which made her special in my book.

My brother, Phil Antibus, who passed in away in '99, had known Joan for a long time and had played tennis at Wildwood, also. He was very fond of her, too!

Such a nice tribute to her with all the photos of her throughout the years. She aged beautifully!

Your mother and I were classmates at HHS. She was always kind, caring, supportive, fun and attractive. Your dad was someone I looked up to as an athlete and older brother type. They were both supportive of each other and gave to others as well. They are missed and you have been blessed to have them in your lives as have I.

I send my most sincere condolences to the family of Joan. The world has lost a shining light. What a beautiful soul she was, always pleasant, so sweet and ready to be kind and helpful to everyone around her. I will feel sad driving down her street and knowing she isn't there and I will miss seeing her at the annual Vera Bradley sale, working there to donate to others as usual. She was a wonderful example to me of how to be a truly good person and think of others before yourself and she inspires me to be a better person every time I think of her and I am so thankful for that. I think everyone that knew Joan would agree with me that we were all very lucky to know her. I will never forget her. Rest in peace little lady.
