

Joan A. Farmer, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born March 9, 1930 in Fort Wayne. She was a member of Praise Lutheran Church. She was past president of Ladies Auxiliary Fleet Reserve Association Unit 348. She was a Sergent in Civil Air Patrol. She was employed with Gardner's Drive Inn and Lincoln Life. She was secretary/registrar at Pensacola, FL Catholic High School. She was also employed with NASA, San Diego, CA and Salvation Army for a short time after the flood of 1982. She was a life long viewer of "As the World Turns" and was very upset with CBS for canceling the show. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roger E. Farmer, of Fort Wayne; sons, Roger Farmer II, of Tempe, AZ and Doc Farmer of Dubuque, Iowa; daughters, Renee (Ed) Carr, of Fort Wayne and Denise (David) Quillin, of Morrow, OH; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and soon to be 12; brother, James (Helen) Boschet; sisters, Glenda (Ernie) Remaklus, of Churubusco, Roselyn (Jerry) Roth, of Loon Lake and Judith (Tom) Auer, of Fort Wayne and dear family friend, Martha Hadley. Funeral Service is 11:00 am Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Praise Lutheran Church, 1115 W. Dupont Rd. with calling one hour prior. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton, Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Rd. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
