Joan Marie Hoffmann

Joan M. Hoffmann, 88, passed away April 14, 2025, surrounded by her family at Park Place Senior Living of Fort Wayne, IN. She was born March 29, 1937, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of the late Maurice and Ruth Crago.

She graduated in 1955 from high school in Indianapolis, IN, and earned her realtors license in 1983.

Joan held several executive administrative positions over the course of her working career including Lincoln National Life.

Joan spent many years volunteering for Visiting Nurse Hospice. She enjoyed spending time shopping with her friends and playing bridge. Mostly importantly she cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Schaffner of Mesa, AZ; R. Scott (June Fields) Schaffner of Henderson, NV; Dianne (Steve Roach) Schaffner, Jill (Jared) Beery, both of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Carole Bowles of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Cassie (Brett) Lettenberger, Christy (Matt) Naylor, Natalie (Ryan Evans) Schaffner and 6 great grandchildren.

Joan was preceded in death by her partner, Bob Hough, and brothers Richard and Robert Crago.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Pine Valley Country Club, 10900 Pine Mills Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46845.

Memorials may be made in Joan’s memory to the ASPCA.
