Joan Rita Elizabeth Katherine Anderson

Joan Rita Elizabeth Katherine Anderson went home to be with her Lord on Aug. 14, 2014. She was born on September 7, 1931 and graduated as the Salutatorian for Concordia Lutheran High School’s Class of ‘49. She worked as a bookkeeper for Harold’s Carburetor Service prior to starting her family. She was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, participating in the Sunday school program, church choir, and alter guild and was also a member of the Anthony Wayne Extension Homemakers Club. Joan Rita was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and a faithful servant.

She is survived by her husband Ray L. Anderson, children Herb (Debi) Anderson, Carolyn (Tony) Shelton, Tom (Michele) Anderson, and Elizabeth (Scott) Sandstrom, grandchildren John (Liz) Shelton, Chris Anderson, Andrew Shelton, Jenny (Winston) Williams, Erik Sandstrom, Matthew Anderson, Jonathan (Brittany- Fiance) Anderson, Katherine Sandstrom, Nicholas Anderson, Rebecca Anderson and great grandchildren Michael, Seraphim, Joey & David Shelton; Brantley Sleesman; Riley Sandstrom.

She was preceded in death by her parents C. Noland and Ottilie (Kramer) Myers, granddaughter Seleste F. Shelton and great-grandson Gabriel R. Shelton.

Funeral Service is 11:30 Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W Jefferson with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4-7 pm Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 420 West Wayne Street . Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
