JOHN S. AYERS, 53, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born July 15, 1957, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Frank R. and Jacqueline L. (Irelan) Ayers. He was a 1976 graduate of North Side High School, and worked at Hoosier Trailer & Truck Equipment for over 10 years. He was a genuine, honest, amiable man, who was always comical and enjoyed making others laugh. He found great joy in music as well. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Ayers; wife, Cathy Ayers; daughter, Jessica Ayers; son, John Ayers; stepson, Nicholas Ludwig; sister, Susan Mills; granddaughter, Makayla Schuchman; and niece, Rachal Mills. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ayers; and stepdaughter, Marie Schuchman. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
