John C. Barnes, 88, of Hudson, IN passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, IN. Mr. Barnes was born on July 27, 1930 in Fort Wayne, IN to Harold Simon and Ruth Lucille (Thain) Barnes. John graduated from Southside High School in Fort Wayne. He served his country honorably with the United States Army. On October 15, 1960, he married Mary Jo at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. He was self-employed and worked in interior design with custom draperies and textiles. Survivors include his sons; David (Laurie) Barnes and Mark Barnes, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Barnes, parents, and sister, Lois Spitler. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1:00pm with calling two hours prior from 11am-1pm at Mungovan Simple, 2114 South Calhoun, Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Burial will take place in St. John’s, Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Officiating the services will be Pastor Paul Offhaus. Memorial donations may be directed to the donor’s choice.
