

JOHN M. CONWAY, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, March, 3, 2017 at Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla. Born in Orlando, Fla., he was a son of the late Clarence and Frances (Stephenson) Conway. John was a veteran of World War II, proudly having served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 and graduated from the University of Florida in 1950. On April 11, 1953 he married his wife of 60 years, the late Mary Lou (Peppler) Conway. He retired as a Registered Pharmacist of over 40 years, having been employed with the family business, Buschbaum Drug Store and later with Hook's Drug Store. He was also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for over 61 years. An outdoors enthusiast, he enjoyed fishing, bird-hunting, and gardening. An avid bowler, he also enjoyed western and square dancing. He is survived by his daughter, Beth (Tony Jeffers) Conway-Jeffers of Kendallville; son, Kevin (Brenda) Conway of Caledonia, Mich.; four grandchildren, Christina (Matthew) Lung, Molly (C.J.) Havard, Brian (Amy) Conway, and Brody Conway; nine great-grandchildren, Jackson, Carter, Sophia, and Annabelle Lung, Gabriel and Phoebe Conway, and Levi, Garrett, and Brenna Havard; sister, Joan Epps of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and brother, Robert (Helen) Conway of Apopca, Fla. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John William Epps. Funeral Service is noon Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
