He was born on September 27, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a graduate of Central High School. He was formerly employed by American Hoist and retired from Essex Wire.
Surviving are his children, John L. Dunn III; daughter, Tammi S. (Robert) Ewing; two granddaughters, Sara and Ellie; brother, Ronald Dunn, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Dunn and Elizabeth Dunn, and a brother, Alan Dunn.
