Obituary of Jon Michael Jason McCoy
J. (Jon Michael Jason) McCoy, 46, who resided in Lexington South Carolina passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019, with his family by his side. J.J. was born on August 4th, 1972, to the late, Jon McCoy and the living, Carol Warden McCoy Weick (Chuck), in Fort Wayne, Indiana. J.J. was a 1991 graduate of New Haven High School and graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. J.J. married his beloved wife, Angie (Foster) McCoy, on June 22, 1996; she survives him. They were very happily married for almost 23 years. J.J.’s greatest joy was being the father of Madilyn Paige McCoy (20), and Macy Reese McCoy (16), both of Lexington, South Carolina. J.J. further leaves brothers Sean McCoy and David McCoy to cherish his memory. He joins his oldest brother, Chris Righter in heaven. He is further survived by Father-in-law Bill (Bobbi) Foster, Sisters-in-law Julie (Foster) Hayden and Michelle (Jerry) Hays, both of Portage, Indiana. J.J. was uncle to Drew Hayden, Luke Hayden, Rebekah Hays, Doug McCoy, Giada McCoy, Izzy McCoy and London McCoy. J.J. never knew a stranger and had many friends who were like family to him. J.J. is also preceded in death by his mother-in-law; Ruth Ann Foster; and grandparents Douglas and Ruth Warden of New Haven, Indiana and Virgil and Bettie McCoy of Springfield, Illinois. J.J. worked for Nucor Steel for 16 years. He loved his job and friendships made during his career. His further interests included singing karaoke, boating on Lake Murray, playing golf, going on cruises, and anything regarding football especially related to Notre Dame or the Minnesota Vikings. The funeral will be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home at 1320 E Dupont Rd on Saturday, June 1st. Visitation hours will be from 12:00pm until 4:00pm with the funeral services at 4:00pm. Memorial contributions can be made to VCU Health’s Comprehensive Stroke Program, Box 980020 Richmond, VA 23298-0020. Please make checks payable to MCV Foundation and place JJ’s name in the memo line. We received above and beyond care at Virginia Commonwealth’s Stroke Center where they treated J.J. like family and we would love to pay that forward.
