Joseph Felton Washington Jr., 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Majestic Care, New Haven. Born February 20, 1938 in Baton Rouge, La., he was a son of the late Joseph Felton Washington Sr. and Mary Lee (Browden) Myers. After graduation from Southern Lab High School, class of 1956, in Baton Rouge, La., he enlisted in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Connie (King) Washington of Fort Wayne; daughters, Patricia (Jimmy) Perry of Rialto, Calif., Paula Washington of Rosamound, Calif., Toyah (Lee) Washington of Peterborough, England; stepdaughters, Rachel Simonis, Crystal Simonis, and Moriah Simonis, all of Fort Wayne; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Jackson Washington of Baton Rouge, La., Jeanette (Aaron) Purvis of Fayetteville, N.C., and Natalie Shaffer of Baton Rouge, La.; and aunt, Idella Jackson of Baton Rouge, La. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Williamson; brothers, Clarence Washington and Donald Hardesty; and sister, Elaine Washington.
