Josephine Marie Ford

Josephine Marie Ford, age 92, passed away in her home on May 8, 2023. Josephine was born March 11, 1931 in Puerto Rico to Geraldo and Maria Lopez. She came to Elgin, Illinois in her early twenties where she met Alton Richard Ford, a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. They married on August 14, 1954 and raised two sons, Alton and Bryan, and two daughters, Lora and Joyce.

Josephine loved tending her flower beds and plants in her home. She was known for her cakes, pies, and cookies. Josephine and Alton were very active members with the American Legion, she was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 171 of Gladwin, Michigan and a former auxiliary member of American Legion Post 282 of Ypsilanti Michigan. She and Alton attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin, Michigan.

Josephine is survived by her daughters Lora Klaus, Joyce (Lee) Klaus and son Bryan (Julie) Ford; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Alton; and son, Alton "Butch" Ford.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
