Joy Sue Lasley, age 71, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born August 26, 1953, the daughter of the late Charles Richard and Audrey May Grabner. Joy was raised in Maples, IN and graduated from Heritage High School in 1971 and earned an associate’s degree from IU Fort Wayne. She retired from Kohl’s after working there 30 years.
She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Joy spent many hours reading to her children and grandchildren and teaching them to bake many kinds of cookies. She always made holiday crafts with the grandchildren. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed drawing.
Joy is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Gary "Mike" Lasley, children, Michael Lasley, Meredith (Jason) Shively, Michelle Lasley, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Harrison, Lilian, Davis Lasley and Hudson, Haisley and Holden Shively;, brother, David F. (Cindy) Grabner of Roanoke, IN; and sister Lois A Gehres of Van Wert, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Joy will be held Monday, April 7, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00- 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN.
Funeral service will occur Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior.
A committal and burial will occur Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, 13143 SR 101, Monroeville, IN 46773. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
