JOYCE MADORA COLLINS, 82, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Fla. Born in Fort Wayne, Joyce was a graduate of North Side High School, attended Ball State University and was a substitute teacher at Precious Blood and St. Jude Catholic Schools. She was a member of Saint Joseph United Methodist Church, past president of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, past junior director of the Federation of Women's Clubs, and Fort Wayne Women's Club. In 1995, she and Dick retired to sunny Largo, Fla. for the winters and enjoyed the summers at Indian Springs Campground. Joyce rejoiced in her time with family and friends, she truly enjoyed throwing and attending parties, decorating and collecting of antiques and collectables. Surviving are her sons, Dennis P. (Sherry) Collins and Kevin R. Collins, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jason (Tracy) of New York, Tyler of Florida, Joshua of Indianapolis and Erin (Miles) McKerracher of Fort Wayne; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce P (Patricia) Davenport of Ashley, Ind.; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lois Davenport; and husband, Charles "Dick" Collins. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Saint Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Russ Abel officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Saint Joseph United Methodist Church.
