She move to Fort Wayne in 1968 and earned her Bachelor’s from St. Francis University in 1971. Joyce worked for the Division of Family and Children at a Family Case Manager for 23 years.
Joyce was a loving mother and sister and enjoyed hanging out at her pool with her son. She was passionate about animals, especially her cats and horses when she was younger. She was a volunteer at Black Pines Animal Sanctuary, Albion, Indiana. Joyce had a true appreciation for Christmas and loved to decorate her entire house.
She is survived by her son, Brad A. Dawson of Huntertown, IN; brother James (Diann) Jordan of Oklahoma, sisters, Sandra Justman, Patti Kanagtaa, nephew Joe (Kendall) Jordan and their daughter, Kennedy, and a niece Myriah Jordan.
Celebration of life will be 7:00 pm Thursday, October 19, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation 2 hours prior.
