Joyce Carolyn Kouder, 84, of Harlan, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. She gracefully departed this world on what would have been her and her late husband, Edward Kouder’s, 67th wedding anniversary. Born December 29, 1939 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Nettie Tugwell. A graduate of South Side High School, Fort Wayne, class of 1957, Joyce was a loyal Avon Representative for more than 50 years, reaching the status of President’s Club. Alongside her husband Ed, she volunteered many hours to the Harlan Community Association. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Jon) Meyer of New Haven, and grandchildren, Lauren and Luke Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kouder, and her son, Michael Kouder. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Advantage Funeral Home-Highland Park, 2403 E. Wallen Road., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made to the Harlan Community Association.
