She graduated from East Peoria High School, East Peoria, Illinois and earned her bachelor’s degree from Bradley University.
She worked as a medical technologist at Redi-Med for 12 years and had volunteered at Matthew 25 Clinic for several years.
Judith was a member of Oak Park Church, where she loved to play the piano. She enjoyed traveling, photography, playing board games and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Darren (Becky) Young of Chester, MT; granddaughters, Jenna Young of Lexington, KY and Audrey Young of Chester, MT; and her sister, Helen Barnett of Atlanta, GA.
Judith was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ernest Eugene Young, October 30, 2018; and a brother-in-law, Gary Barnett.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, with visitation 2 hours prior.
Private burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
