

Judy Lynn (Jacobs) Herendeen, 80, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 13, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Judy was the cherished daughter of the late Ellsworth "Bud" R. and Virginia "Ginny" (Holsworth) Jacobs.
Judy's life was a testament to love, dedication, and warmth. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Leo for 59 remarkable years, having married on May 20, 1967, in Fort Wayne. Their marriage was filled with cherished memories.
Judy supported her family with steadfast dedication, creating a warm and loving home for her sons, Cory (Molly) Herendeen of Carmel, Jason Herendeen of Fort Wayne, and Joel (Sarah) Herendeen of Indianapolis. Her legacy lives on in her six treasured grandchildren, Hailey, Tyler, Hayden, Colton, Caden, and Remington, who will carry forward her love and kindness. She is survived by her sister, Janet Jacobs-Yager. Judy was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan (Jacobs) Scott.
Judy's compassion extended beyond her family, as she was deeply caring of parents and all those she loved. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Parkview Hospice nurses and aides whose compassionate care and warmth brought comfort during her final days.
A memorial service to celebrate Judy's life is currently being planned by the family and details will be shared once they are finalized. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you share a cookie with someone you love in her honor or consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.
