Judy C. Scherber, 72 passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. She was born April 6, 1949 in Mayfield, Kentucky to the late Charles and Frances (Elder) Bloodgood. Judy was a lifetime member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. She had devoted several years to teaching special education at Brentwood Elementary School. Judy had a passion for animals and a passion for her family. Her kind and loving soul will be dearly missed. Judy was survived by her daughter, Wendy (Marc) Jernigan; son, Todd (Bridget) Scherber; grandchildren, Alyssa Ostheim, Haley Scherber, and Bryce and Chase Jernigan; gr. granddaughter, Arianna Ostheim; and uncle, Jerry Elder. Also preceding her in passing was her husband, Richard Scherber; and grandson, Isaac Jernigan. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Burial to follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825. Contributions in Judy's memory may be made to Special Education Department- FWCS Brentwood Elementary School.
