Julia "Julie" Ann Hollis

Julia “Julie” Ann Hollis, 87, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Heritage Park. She was born October 9, 1935, in Fort Wayne, daughter to the late Ralph and Amber (Till) Motz. She is survived by her husband, William Bradley Hollis, two children, Laurie (David) Burke of Keller, TX, and Kent Hollis of Mt. Vernon, IL, and by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her two sisters, Ellen (Richard) Kleinert and Mary Lou (Don) Trump.

Julie was many things, most importantly a strong woman of faith and an example to her family, her children, and those who knew her. She was a faithful wife who recently celebrated her 68th wedding anniversary with her high-school sweetheart, Bradley. As a mother, she deeply invested in her children as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she deeply loved.

Julie worked most of her adult life managing her in-laws gift store, “Hollis Unusual Gifts;” in addition, she also worked as an administrative assistant for K-Mart Warehouse and in the purchasing department for the Fort Wayne Community School District. Julie was also a homemaker and excellent cook who enjoyed knitting and gardening. She loved music and sang in her Church choir for many decades; she also volunteered with the Girl Scouts, served as PTA president, and volunteered for the Fort Wayne Community Fine Arts Foundation as an usher at the Embassy Theater. She was tireless in the time she invested in volunteer work both in the community and her Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 729 West Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN, 46802 with visitation beginning at 9:30am at the Church. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery. Contributions in Julie’s memory may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
