Julia Anne Mueller Thomas Heine, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on December 19, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne on February 15, 1938, Julia returned to her birth place in 2005 after having lived much of her adult life in Cincinnati, OH; Denver and Grand Junction, CO; San Francisco, CA, and Santa Fe, NM.
Until her retirement in 2002, she worked for various law firms, including Rothberg Logan & Warsco, as an Administrative Assistant and Litigation Secretary. A graduate of North Side High School (1956), Julia received her B.A. degree in Psychology and English Literature from Hanover College, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi, as well as the honorary association Alpha Phi Gamma and the Hanover Players.
Upon her return to Fort Wayne, she was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church where she was affiliated with Abigail Circle and served as a Telecare Minister, co-President of the Women's group, and member of the Church Council. She also was a volunteer for Learn United.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Logue Heine; her parents, Paul A. J. and Doris (Daib) Mueller; her brother, Richard Paul Mueller, and her daughter, Laura Anne Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Scott Thomas, as well as two grandchildren (Finian and Laura). In addition, she is survived by three step-children, Kent M. Heine, Bruce J. Heine and Kerstin (Karl) Augur and two step-grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Augur.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial will be held 11:00 am Friday, October 4, 2024, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 450 W. Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior.
