Junior "Jay" E. Wine
May 3, 1943 – May 3, 2013
Junior “Jay” Wine, 70, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Born on May 3, 1943, the Fort Wayne native graduated from Central High School, was in the Marine Corps, and was married for 49 years. He was an active member of the Mizpah Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite and the Free Masons. He was an avid volunteer at the Embassy Theater, Trinity Methodist Food Bank, and the Botanical Conservatory. He will be remembered for always making others laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Cerveris) Wine, son Keith (Dawn) Wine of Fort Wayne, and daughter Angela (James) Bredemeyer of Roanoke. He is also survived by his siblings Chester Wine, Kenneth Wine, John Wine, Russell Lahr, Georgiana Hanks, Tina Narhwold, Robert Wine, Diane King, and Charlotte Cooke. He had nine grandchildren: Brittney, Kirsten, and Shelbie Wine, as well as Charles, Aubrey, Graham, Anissa, Brent, and Alena Bredemeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Wine and Victoria (Boothby) Narhwold, and his siblings Labon Trayler, Patricia Mattson, Francis Wine, and David Felton.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday May 8, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne. Calling will be held from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday May 7, at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 7:30PM. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the family.
