Karen Kathleen Eastom, age 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at her home. She was born December 29, 1946 in Fort Wayne to the late Benjamin S. and Jerita D. (née Payne) Nutter.
Following graduation from South Side High School, Class of '65, Karen went on to earn her Flight Attendant Certification, and worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the Children's Department at Glenbrook Square Mall for over 30 years. She would marry Timothy R. Eastom on September 3, 1966 and celebrated 59 years of marriage prior to his passing in May.
Karen was an active, longtime member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo and former Allen County SPCA. She had many hobbies and interests including aerobics, bowling, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and loved to cook - especially waffle breakfasts and baking cookies. Vacations with family provided an opportunity to add to her growing and extensive bell collection. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and cherished time spent with her family.
Karen is survived by sons, Eric (Beverly) Eastom and Scot Eastom; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy R. Eastom.
Funeral Service is 1:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2025 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne with visitation 2 hours prior, Pastor Bill Mueller officiating. Interment at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
