Karen Sue Strauss

Karen Sue Strauss, 81 years old, of Leo, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born October 9, 1944, in Fort Wayne, IN to Gail and Nellie (Grim) Rowley.

Karen left high school to get married to the love of her life, Robert Strauss, in 1963. Bob passed in 2004 after 41 years of marriage. She was very proud of obtaining her GED years later. She spent her career at Mattel, which provided many fun toys for her grandchildren.

Karen enjoyed reading, researching her family’s genealogy, spending time with the Sister Chicks, and caring for her family. As a devoted woman of faith, she always gifted her grandchildren and great-grandchildren their first bible, and many of them attended church with her as children.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Marcy (Peter) Tagtmeyer and son Tom (MJ) Strauss; grandchildren, Steven (Sarah) Miller, Aaron Garretson, Hayley (John) Birkenbeul, Jessica (Michael) Hatfield, Khristina (Justin) Mullins, and Sydney Strauss; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Marilyn Roth; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Strauss; sisters, Shirley Gran and Pat Henry; and brother, Larry Rowley.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes – Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2026, with calling one hour prior at the Funeral Home.
