Kathleen Carol Barton

Our sweet, loving and faithful mother, Kathleen Barton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born June 2, 1943 in Nebraska, the daughter of the late Glenn and Ruth Marcoe. Kathleen spent her childhood in Rapid City, South Dakota. She loved riding her horse, Topsy, which she remembered fondly. She married her husband, Milton, in 1963 and they started their lives together in California before moving to Indiana in 2012. They had three children, Lorie, Hugh and Russell. She was an R.N. for many years and retired in 1991. Many would say she was the best R.N. they knew. Kathleen loved to laugh and sing and was the most spiritual soul to her family and friends. Her happy songs, talk of Heaven and her Savior will be missed greatly. She is survived by her husband, Milton Barton; daughter, Lorie Jewett, (husband Donald); son, Hugh Barton, (wife Alyssa); son, Russell Barton; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A visitation for Kathleen will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 12:00 PM with burial immediately following the service in Eel River Cemetery, 11022 Carroll Road, Churubusco, IN 46723.
