Kay S. Perez, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away on July 8, 2026. She was born on October 7, 1935, in Fort Wayne, daughter of the late F.J. “Mac” and Kathaleen (Knisely) McCreary. Kay was devoted to her family and loved nothing better than to spend time with them. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan (There’s always next year!) who also enjoyed dark chocolate and a good, cold beer. She was a voracious reader and was rarely found without a novel. She was very generous to her children sponsoring an annual girls’ trip with her daughters and granddaughter and supporting others in their endeavors. Kay is survived by her daughters, Elena (Barry) Dove and Sylvia (Greg) Spaulding; son, Tom (Laura) Perez; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Perez and her children. She was also preceded in death by her “Sweetie” husband, Roger Perez; beloved son, Steven Perez; and sister, April Bauch. A Funeral Service will be at 1pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808, with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
