Keith Allen Eichenauer

Keith Allen Eichenauer, 75, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on March 17, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of the late Eldon Clemont Eichenauer and Lucille Betty (Brockhouse) Eichenauer.

Keith graduated from Snider High School in 1968. In 1970, he enlisted in the United States Navy and dutifully served his country during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1972. He later built a tenured career at Zollner Piston, where he worked for more than 35 years prior to his retirement.

Keith met the love of his life, Eleanor, and they were married on May 10, 1980. He was a beloved family man—husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—who took great pride in caring for those he loved.

Keith loved animals and had many special dogs throughout his lifetime, including a 13-year-old Shih Tzu who is now in the loving care of his granddaughter. He cherished time spent with family and enjoyed watching sports, particularly Notre Dame and IU football. Known for his immaculate lawn and the care he put into maintaining his home, Keith was truly a “doer,” and he leaves behind a family who was deeply loved and well cared for.

Keith is survived by his son, Paul (Maria) Eichenauer; his granddaughter, Arianna Marie Eichenauer; his great-granddaughter, Journee Marie Eichenauer; his sister, Judith Ann Couch; and several nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor (Hernandez) Eichenauer; his parents; his son, Douglas Eichenauer; and his brother, Thomas Lynn Eichenauer, who died in combat serving his country.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:30 am at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, where Keith will be laid to rest.
