Kelly Doreen Steiger

Kelly Doreen Steiger, 64, passed away October 25, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on October 1, 1962, in Shelby, Ohio, and graduated from Shelby High School in 1981. Kelly had been a resident of Fort Wayne for over 30 years.

Kelly devoted many years of service to Parkview Hospital, where she worked in the billing department. In both work and life, she was known for a steady kindness and an open, welcoming way with others, who made room for people and made them feel at ease.

Kelly found joy in camping, traveling, and sharing the outdoors with friends. With an adventurous spirit and a generous heart, she embraced life and connected warmly with those around her.

Kelly is survived by her sister, Danita “Deedee” (Matthew) Bowman of Delaware, OH; her nieces, Elizabeth (Joshua) Moore of Shelby, OH, and Amber (Jason) Smith of Plymouth, OH; three great-nephews; her mother-in-law, Jeanne Steiger, her sister-in-law, Krista Steiger, and her nephews, Shaun and Wesley, all of Bucyrus, Ohio; and her beloved dog, Stella.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Ray Steiger, on November 2, 2018; her father, Jo Donnenwirth; her mother, Deborah Ball; father-in-law, Otto Steiger; and brothers-in-law, Ritchie Steiger and Michael Steiger.

A private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fort Wayne Humane.
